How to Determine Self-Worth as a Christian

Hey there, sweet friend. I hope you’re sitting comfortably and bringing an open mind & heart, because things are about to get a bit deep, and definitely a bit honest. I’m talking about self-worth today, and how I know, as a Christian, that you are worth it. There are so many things in this world that will tell you you’re not good enough, you’re not pretty enough, or you are not something enough… But I’m here to tell you that you are worth it.

You are worth more than the comparison games and jealousy traps we get caught in.
You are worth more than the little lies that break down our confidence in a big way.
You are worth it.

I’ve struggled tremendously with self-worth, self-image, and self-confidence throughout my life. I still struggle tremendously with these things today, as I’m writing this. Like so much of the words I hope share with you on my blog, my heart needs to hear this, too.

There are hundreds of things you see every single day that make you feel ‘less than’ in some way. How many things do you see that truly make you feel loved, appreciated, known, and forgiven? Probably not as many.

I hope this post and video can be a small piece of that goodness & grace for you today. Even if it’s just the start of your journey to believing what I have to say.

I am no perfect Christian. I won’t pretend to be. But I am here to remind you that God does not make mistakes. And He made you. This universe will only ever get just one You. And that’s worth something.

I know all these things are the exact types of things we’ve been slowly conditioned to ignore, brush off, and not believe in this world. To say we are worthy of God’s infinite, unfailing love?

To say we are worthy of each and every desire of our human heart?

To say we are worthy of being saved from all our sins?

You are worthy of saying, shouting, and truly believing all these things, and more.
Because you. are. worth it.

God doesn’t promise that this life of faith will be easy. But He does promise He will never give up on us. I know this post may seem scatterbrained, but there are just so many truths I want to pass onto your heart today. As you know, I try not to take Bible verses out of context (read why here), but I think Matthew 6:25-34 and 1 Peter 5 are two relevant chapters you may enjoy. I hope you’ll read them, watch this video, and then read them and watch this again if you need to.

I hope you read this until you truly believe this. You are so absolutely worth it. And you are worth more than anyone, or anything, that makes you feel otherwise.

I’m praying for you, and don’t worry, friend, God’s got this.
