Should Christians Date in College kristen shane

I’ve debated posting on this topic for a while now, because I feel like I don’t have a ‘perfect’ answer or response to this question, so I didn’t want to speak up about it. I realized, though, that I’ll never have the perfect answer, but I do want to start a conversation about this...

When you get a call that you could save a life, wh When you get a call that you could save a life, what can you say but, “Yes”?!
Five years ago I joined the @bethematch bone marrow registry with a simple cheek swab at a @dmfsu college event. And recently, I became a match and donor for a patient with leukemia. I donated a unit of stem cells and plasma by IV (alternative to bone marrow donation by surgery) to give my patient a chance at a healthy immune system.
This process was scary and painful and a lot to handle. But nothing compares to what these patients battle every day. I would gladly do it all again and more. Any person only has a 30% chance of matching with a family member for a bone marrow donation. Most donors are anonymous matches. You never know who could need you. It could be your mother, your sister, your cousin, or a fellow human whose cells match yours and needs this chance at recovery… Please visit @bethematch and BeTheMatch.org for how you can help save a life.
Please if you are able, join the registry. Donate blood. Be compassionate. Be kind. We can all do a little more to bring a lot more hope to our world.
Thank you to @dmfsu @bethematch and @giftoflifemarrowregistry for making all of this possible for me and the millions of patients out there. My life is forever changed. 💙💚💙💚

I am 1 in 9,000,000 🧬 I donate blood. I’m a r I am 1 in 9,000,000 🧬
I donate blood. I’m a registered organ donor. But it’s not enough. In 2017 I joined the Be the Match bone marrow registry through a college event, never thinking I would get a call. But two months ago, I did.
I am a match for an adult with leukemia, who needs a bone marrow donation. I am their match. In a few short weeks, I’ll be donating PBSCs via IV (kind of like the process for donating blood platelets…) to give this patient a new, healthy immune system. It’s kind of like their and my Stem cells are pieces from two different puzzles that would fit in the same slot 🧩
Matching for bone marrow is much more complicated than blood typing (which I didn’t know). It’s more closely related to your DNA and there are infinite combinations of the genes needed to match for donation.
There is only a 30% chance that any person will have viable bone marrow match within their family, which is why the Be the Match registry is so important.
There are over 9 million registered donors on the @bethematch US registry, and even more worldwide and with other similar organizations.
All it takes is a simple cheek swab to join the registry. And to potentially save a life.
I am healthy, willing, and able, and I will do anything I can to bring hope and health to this patient. You never know who could need a transplant. It could be you, a sibling, a loved one, a friend, or a stranger. But you could save a life.
Please visit @bethematch or bethematch.org for more info 💙 I’d be happy to share more about my experience and upcoming donation! We can all do our part, no matter how big or small, to help make the world a little more full of kindness, hope, and compassion.

I’ve been painting my nails pink for as long as I can remember 😂 but recently I am the biggest @kissproducts convert (not sponsored at all, just a big fan) and I love being able to have pretty nails that I can do at home!! I started using press-ons last year when I was sewing face masks for @lemonlilyco full-time and my natural nails got wrecked from using my hands so much. But I’m not switching back!! These are super sturdy and can last up to a month with good nail glue.
My nails are my one beauty thing I always do for myself!
Fun fact: I used to do fun DIY nail art on myself in high school. But lately, I’ve just been doing ez pz plain pink lol
