Montana Travel Diary

I recently took a family vacation to Big Sky, Montana and Yellowstone National Park. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve already seen some of my favorite shots, but I wanted to do a total round up on the blog! There were so many amazing views, and they made for some incredible shots.

Pictures just don’t do justice to this trip, so I decided to make a travel video as well. I’ve never done this before, and I took all the footage on my iPhone, but I hope you’ll check it out for a better look at my trip! (My family also stayed a few days longer than me, I had to get home for work!)

The video is mostly landscape shots, but I like the few cheesy shots of me because I look so so darn happy. Like really happy. Full-on-wrinkly-nose happy like in the title photo of this post.

It was easy to be happy on this trip. We took hikes to Lava Lake and Ousel Falls, trekked to the 11,166ft mountain top, and zip-lined back down the mountain. We also visited Yellowstone to see Old Faithful (a geyser that goes off once every 90 minutes) and all the other amazing hot springs and pools surrounding Old Faithful park.

It was so hard to narrow down the pictures to just a few, but here are some of my favorites!

the view from the Denver airpot was INCREDIBLE

The “5” (but really 7) mile hike to Lava Lake was worth it. I climbed a giant pile of rocks, ate some gummy wears, and made friends with a chipmunk while soaking up this view.

I’m still obsessing over how pretty it all was! Even without cell service most of the time, I had my phone in my hand non stop, I wanted to capture everything! But sometimes it’s good too to not worry about pictures and be truly in the moment. Thanks girl!!
