I think a proper introduction is in order.
Whether you’ve read my blog before, or this is your first time here at Kristen Shane, I’d like to introduce myself.
I started this blog in August of 2016, and in my very first post, I wrote about “how I got here”, and why I created this blog. Since then, this site has grown with me, and I’d like to show you the who behind it.
I’d much rather us have this conversation over coffee (well, over ice cream really) or maybe during a walk on a nice day, so I’ll just pretend it’s one of those, and I’d love for you to join me.
So, who am I?
How can I sum myself up? Applications for college and jobs have asked me to do this, but I always have a hard time articulating who I am.
I’m Kristen, author-creator-namesake of Kristen Shane, and I’m a 19-year-old Florida native, and a first-year student at Florida State University. I’m majoring in political science, minoring in business, and setting my sites on law school after graduation.
But who am I?
I’m a total “girly-girl”, and always have been. I’ve never grown out of painting my nails and wearing pink, and as I’ve grown up, I’ve exchanged ballet shoes for heels, and princess tiaras for pearl earrings.

I have a huge sweet tooth, and will never turn down ice cream (cookies & cream and cookie dough are my faves).
I’ve been a bookworm for as long as I can remember. I read the whole Harry Potter series in the fifth grade, and I crushed my goal of reading 15 books in the first month of last summer.

I’ve always made school my priority, and I’ve never been the sporty type. I’m driven, self-motivated, and don’t give up easily. I never do less than my best.
I’ve always felt that I was created for greatness, to be better-than-average, in a way that’s difficult to explain.
I was raised Catholic, and I’m extremely grateful for that. Christianity is a huge part of who I am, and I hope to let God shine through me on my blog.
I love to create things. From painting canvases and decorating my room, to writing this blog!
Those are the things that make me, me. I could go on and on about what I’ve done and accomplished, but this isn’t a resume, it’s a blog, my blog, a place where I can just be totally me.
I’m always looking for a new challenge to conquer, and a new lesson to learn.
My friends would tell you that you could probably spot me wearing a preppy or sorority t-shirt, with my hair in my classic bun.
Two of my other best friends can’t tell you anything… but they’re really cute and probably want you to pet them.
My sister would tell you that sometimes, I’m “too productive for my own good” (I’m taking that as a compliment), she’d also tell you that I always stick to my word.
My roommate would tell you that I really love the color pink, and painting whatever I find on Pinterest.
I’ll tell you that I’m someone who wants to inspire and motivate others, and live to be my best self.
I’m a girl trying to live to glorify the God that made the stars and the seas and me.
I’m a girl doing her best to stay positive and productive, and to live a life worth remembering.
My blog tagline says I’m a “Christian & college blogger”, but I hope the rest of it says that I’m so much more than that.
I’m a culmination of all these things. A person with dreams and a drive that can’t be explained by an Instagram bio, or even my “About Me” page.
I’m Kristen Shane, and I hope you’ll keep reading, so I can keep writing, and keep showing you who I really am.

Keep inspiring.
I am more than twice your age, living on a different continent and not a member of organised religion so probably not your expected demographic for your blog. And yet I can relate to your messages and respect your integrity.
We can all benefit from faith and connection.
Thank you for the blog.
